Who we are
Old England Antiques began in 2006 after importing our first container from Europe filled
with our finely restored furniture. We first presented a variety of our select pieces at
various antique fairs and shows around the Greater Boston Area. As a husband and wife team,
Denise manages Old England Antiques, while Marco sources, and buys pieces at antique auctions
in England.
The pieces are then sent to Italy where we have them restored at our parent business, which was
founded in 1979 as Antichita' Brunicardi by Marco's father, Milo. In Italy we have 2 stores, a
warehouse and 2 workshops. Our parent business is located in Carrara, Tuscany, known for its
famous white marble.
Since 1979 we've specialized in English antique furniture,
and have always restored our antique pieces in original fashion, with great success.
In Italy, we have grown to become one of the most prestigious and respected antique businesses
in the area. We have now branched out to the US, Boston, and surrounding areas.
Our goal is to bring these same quality antiques to New England as we have successfully offered
in Europe for nearly three decades. We have always focused on the quality of our antique pieces,
on historically correct restoration, and on superior customer satisfaction.
Our future plans include expanding the business to other areas of Massachusetts and New England,
supplied with regular and frequent shipments from England as a result of our constant antique buying trips.
Marco has been, and is, the sole buyer for all businesses, including the Italian business, since the early
nineties.
If you don't find what you want here, he will gladly source out any piece that you may be searching for.

Typical woods of our antique pieces:
- mahogany
- beech
- oak
- walnut
- rosewood
- satinwood
- shellac, hand polished (hardest, but best option to add value to the piece)
- wax, polished (easier than shellac, but time consuming and not appropriate for English antiques)
- shellac on wax (easier than just plain shellac, more appropriate than just wax, but not the greatest value)
- wax on shellac (easy, therefore cheap, reduces value of the piece)
- satinated shellac (easier than polished, easy to repolish appropriately, good temp solution, doesn't reduce potential value)
- satinated wax (easy even with no experience, but subtracts value even if product for antiques)
- NO synthetic materials (they seriously affect the value of antiques and are costly and messy to remove)
- NO oils (almost irreversible when absorbed, therefore damaging almost all antiques of any wood)
These would be detrimental to the aesthetics and real value of the piece. However, we can restore and refinish any piece to suit the taste and requirements of our clients, because in the end, what counts is customer satisfaction.
We will provide all the advice that we believe is useful, and we will make available all our knowledge, based on decades of experience and studies.
